The Shiroi Nashi Marathon |
The Shiroi Nashi Marathon, held to coincide with the pear harvest every autumn in the vicinity of our company housing project in Tokyo's neighboring Chiba Prefecture, is timed with the aid of non-contact radio-frequency identity systems provided by Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation - systems which keep track of start and finish times and collate and print our results. Beyond contributing to the administration and operation of the event, numerous Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation employees and their family members participate as runners in the race itself.

Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation cosponsors the "Earth Photo Contest" (sponsored by President Co., LTD.) As a cosponsoring enterprise, Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation has held up "Children" as the theme of the contest. Children are sensitive and receptive to the world, and openly express a kaleidoscope of emotion through their laughter and their tears. We wish to ensure that these innocent children have a rich natural environment in which to grow. With these sentiments in mind, send us a photo of children in all their vivacious glory.
